Wings of two Japan Airlines A350 collide

On 23 May 2024, the wings of two Japan Airlines (JAL) Airbus A350-900 aircrafts collided at Tokyo Haneda Airport. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.

On 23 May 2024 at about 7.30am local time (GMT +9), a Japan Airlines Airbus A350-900, registered JA02XJ, operating flight JL503 bound for Sapporo New Chitose Airport, collided with another JAL A350-900, registered JA09XJ.


When the incident happened, JA02XJ had just pushed back from its parking spot, with 329 passengers and crew on board. No injuries were reported as a result of this incident. However, JL503, which was departing for New Chitose Airport, was cancelled.


The incident is currently under investigation by the Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism Ministry and Japan Airlines.
