On 20 February 2024, Singapore Airshow 2024 officially kicked off - and Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China (COMAC), as well as Boeing and ATR, received orders for their aircrafts.

Aircraft orders for COMAC
COMAC made its debut at an international airshow, showcasing its C919 narrow-body jet outside of China for the first time. On the first day of the airshow, the company secured its first aircraft orders from the event. Tibet Airlines (TBA/TV) finalised an order for 40 COMAC C919 aircrafts and 10 ARJ-21 jets, while Henan Civil Aviation Development and Investment Group ordered 6 ARJ-21s.
Aircraft orders for Boeing

Royal Brunei Airlines (RBA/BI) announced a firm order for 4 of Boeing's 787-9 Dreamliners. These are expected to be an addition to the current fleet of Boeing 787-8 Dreamliners currently active in its fleet. Additionally, Boeing celebrated a signing ceremony for Thai Airways, which recently ordered 45 of the same Dreamliners. The delivery of Thai's Boeing 787-9s are expected to start in 2027. Thai Airway's CEO, Mr Chai Eamsiri, commented:
“To accomplish our company’s and the national carbon neutral goals by 2050, the 45 new Boeing 787 Dreamliners will be equipped with GEnx engines, which are known for their cutting-edge technology and reduced environmental impact.”

Maldivian Aero has confirmed an order for two ATR 42-600 aircraft, bringing their total ATR fleet to seven. This expansion is designed to enhance connectivity within the Maldivian aviation market, offering reliable, low-emission, comfortable, and affordable travel options.
According to an ATR spokesperson:
“By selecting 2 new ATR 42-600, Maldivian Aero invests in the lowest-emission and most cost-effective regional aircraft on the market. These turboprops will bolster Maldivian’s flexibility to reliably and comfortably serve even the shortest routes, all with maximized profitability.”
