On 7 May 2024, Scoot, the low-cost subsidiary of Singapore Airlines (SIA), marked a significant milestone by introducing its first Embraer E190-E2 revenue flight at a launch event held at Singapore Changi Airport. The event was graced by Mr. Chee Hong Tat, Minister for Transport and Second Minister for Finance, as the Guest of Honour.

Attendees had the opportunity to explore the interior of the E190-E2 aircraft, which boasts 112 seats in a 2-2 single-class configuration, offering a standard seat pitch of 29 inches and larger cabin windows. One of the aircraft's standout features is its reputation as the quietest and most fuel-efficient single-aisle aircraft in the industry.

Scoot Chief Executive Officer, Leslie Thng, commented on this significant milestone:

“Today’s launch of our first E190-E2 would not have been possible without the support of our partners and unwavering commitment of all our staff to ensure a successful entry into service. The E190-E2, with its modern operating capabilities and fuel-efficient credentials, was a natural choice as we looked to grow Scoot’s fleet. We are confident that with this new-generation aircraft, we will continue to strengthen our presence in the region, enhance our connectivity to non-metro destinations and provide our customers with even more memorable travel experiences.”

The first flights took off to Krabi, operated under flight number TR684/685 and Hat Yai, operated under flight number TR630/631. Both destinations are located in Thailand. Krabi's coral reefs and beaches offer an escape from city life, while Hat Yai's multicultural vibe, night markets, and street food ensure a memorable experience.

The second Embraer E190-E2 ordered by Scoot, registered 9V-THB, has also arrived in Singapore, preparing for operations. The remaining 7 of 9 aircraft are expected to arrive by late 2025.

The Scoot Embraer E190-E2 aircrafts will first operate routes to Krabi, Hat Yai, Koh Samui, Miri, Kuching, as well as Sibu. More routes will be added in time to come.
