A Turkish Airlines Flight TK35 diverted to Prague on Friday (16 February 2024) after declaring a medical emergency.

A Turkish Airlines Boeing 777-300ER operating under flight TK35 (THY40Y) from Istanbul, Turkey, to Montreal, Canada, diverted to Prague Havel Airport in the Czech Republic on Friday (16 February 2024) after declaring a medical emergency.
Data from flight tracking website Flightradar24.com revealed that the aircraft, registered TC-JJT, took off from Istanbul Airport at 1.29pm UTC and was cruising at FL370 above Nuremberg in Germany when a passenger was reported to be feeling unwell. The aircraft descended to 25,000 feet at 3:33pm UTC and landed an hour later at Havel Airport in Prague, Czechia. No other injuries were reported.

No information has been made available on the exact circumstances of the medical emergency, but local media reported that the passenger, believed to be male, passed away in hospital after landing. Project AeroFlight sends our condolences to the families of the deceased passenger.
Turkish Airlines operates daily flights to Canada's three main cities: Toronto (YYZ), Montreal (YUL), and Vancouver (YVR), from its main base at Istanbul International Airport (IST).
