Embraer, the world’s third largest aircraft manufacturer, will make a return to the 2025 edition of the Avalon Australian International Airshow held from 25-30 March 2025, marking its significant presence within Australia.

In the business aviation sector, close to 50 E-Jets and 20 Embraer business jets are operating in the Australasia region today. Meanwhile, with regards to the commercial aviation sector, Australia is home to one of the largest fleets of Embraer jets within the Asia-Pacific region. Some of the significant commercial operators include Alliance Airlines, National Jet Airlines, Airnorth and Air Kiribati.

This list will soon grow to include Virgin Australia, which is set to take delivery of eight Embraer E190-E2s in late 2025 after Embraer and Virgin Australia announced a firm order for eight Embraer E190-E2s late last year, as part of Virgin Australia’s fleet renewal plan. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in the second half of this year and the fleet will be based in Perth, Western Australia.

Significant improvements in carbon emissions and fuel burn can be yielded with the E190-E2’s enhanced aerodynamics, novel wing design, and new technologies. It has been certified to fly with blends of up to 50% SAF and has demonstrated the aircraft's compatibility with 100% SAF through test flights.

Raul Villaron, the Vice President of Embraer Commercial Aviation in the Asia-Pacific region, said: “Australia is a vital market for Embraer, and our presence at Avalon underscores our long-term commitment to the region. With a strong foundation of existing E-Jet operators and the exciting addition of Virgin Australia's E190-E2 fleet, we're confident that Embraer aircraft will continue to play a crucial role in connecting communities and driving economic growth across Australia.”

The Defence and Security sector of Embraer will also be showcasing their portfolio of their defence aircraft and solutions such as the Embraer C-390 Millennium.

Embraer has been present in the Australian market since 1978, marking a whopping 47 years in the market since Embraer’s first aircraft, the Embraer EMB 110 Bandeirante, took off into the Australian skies.
