Apart from the scheduled Jetstar flights, Avalon Airport in Geelong usually receives occasional cargo flights, light aircraft and some business jets. However, every two years, the airport sees an influx in many different types of aircraft and helicopters, coming in from all around the globe, for Australia's biggest airshow - the Avalon Australian International Airshow.
This year, the airshow kicked off its trade day on 25 March, with 902 exhibitors from 28 different countries attending the event this year, the highest number yet in the Airshow’s 33-year history.
Flying displays will be held throughout the airshow, with some showcasing the capabilities of the Australian Defense Force. Several aircraft from the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) such as the F-35 Lightning II, Air Force Roulettes and C-17 Globemaster will be part of the flying displays.

This year, various companies will be showcasing their aircraft at the airshow, such as Dassault, Gulfstream, Honeywell, among others. In total, a whopping 350 aircraft will be displayed in this year’s edition of the airshow. Aircraft on static display include the Gulfstream G700 jet, Dassault Falcon 8X, as well as the Honeywell Boeing 757-200 Test Aircraft.
